Abstract

Divorce and family disintegration are one of the issues that increase significantly in modern society, and they have many negative effects on individuals and societies alike. Family disintegration is not just an individual event, but rather a comprehensive condition that affects all family members, including children. Divorce is one of the most prominent factors that lead to the disintegration of the family, as it represents a collapse of marital and family relations. This collapse not only destroys emotional ties between spouses, but also includes extensive effects on children with psychological, social and educational repercussions. One of the most prominent effects of divorce on children is academic leakage, as students who are growing up in broken families can become more vulnerable to academic negligence. These children are exposed to feelings of sadness, anxiety and internal conflict due to the changes that occur in their family lives, which directly affects their ability to focus in school. The effects of divorce on children vary according to age and sex, as girls can be psychologically affected than boys in some cases.
