Education is a fundamental requirement for development in any society. As population and area increase, the need arises to provide a variety of services, among which educational services are key. There is a direct relationship between the level of education and both income and its quality. Moreover, adopting advanced educational experiences increases the number of people employed in the goods and services sector. Undoubtedly, the rapid pace of urban growth leads to a significant rise in the number of school-aged children, which makes it difficult to provide adequate educational opportunities for them. Upon examining the educational reality in Basra Governorate, it becomes clear that many cities within the governorate lack sufficient educational institutions, and their number does not correspond to the actual population size. Furthermore, the number of students per classroom and per teacher is much higher than both local and international standards.
