Whispers of the Soul by the Poet Jamil Sidqi al-Zahawi (A Stylistic Study)

Abstract

This research presents a stylistic study of the poetry of Jamil Sidqi al-Zahawi, one of the most prominent poetic voices, aiming to uncover the linguistic and artistic features that distinguish his poetic experience. The study focuses on a specific verses of his poetry collection titled “Hawajis al-Nafs” (Whispers of the Soul). In this study ,style is viewed as the medium through which the poet’s vision of the world is manifested, and analyzing its elements helps in understanding the psychological and intellectual structure of the text. The study comprises three sections: The first section addresses the musical level, the second deals with the semantic level, and the third focuses on the syntactic level.
