Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become increasingly popular in the last decade. Its development and growth raise several issues that must be considered for the success of an AI project. An AI project requires communication across different domains, such as experts, engineers, data scientists, stakeholders, and ecosystem partners (analytics platforms, storage, labeling, and open-source platforms). AI offers several vital qualities to provide deeper insights into user behavior and make recommendations based on data.  An AI project is difficult to define, requires greater mastery of data, and every organization needs a simple guide and plan on how to use AI. This study presents an approach with a comprehensive view of different types of smart model canvases for companies that project, produce, promote, and provide AI technology to enterprises. We have selected three canvases representing AI, machine learning, and deep learning. We explain and illustrate these canvases along with some case studies. We conclude our research by writing the final report for each use case of the smart model canvas. By filling the canvas with one page, it helps us explain what the AI will do, how it will interact with human judgment, how it will be used to influence decisions, how success and outcomes will be measured, and what kind of data will be needed to train, operate, and improve the AI. The Smart Model Canvas provides a clear and detailed description of the roles of stakeholders, customers, and the AI strategy. This canvas can also be used for analysis and synthesis projects in new product line development.
