The argumentation of rhetorical discourse in the texts of the self-blaming soul by Sheikh Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Kafa’mi (d. 905 AH)

Abstract

The topic of argumentation is a tool for discussing ideas and visions according to their speculative nature or credibility, as it is a communication link that is concerned with the recipient and his intuition based on suspicion or truth - for the purpose of persuasion and dialogue and then obligating compliance and submission, with the intention of either casting doubt on opinions, or opposing them, or establishing and supporting them through the mechanisms of debate, argumentation and reasoning by presenting the claim and the counter-claim, then reviewing the arguments in order to reach a convincing result for the recipient. This evidence or argument is based on description or the method of definition or narration of facts, or explanation, representation, debate and other numerous methods such as tonal music, or sarcasm and astonishment, or grammatical rhetoric by using pronouns for intimidation, enticement, persuasion, warning, calling, advice and subjugation. I preferred to study this topic in the texts of Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Kafa’mi in his speech “Accounting the Blaming Self.”
