تطوّر الدلالة التفسيرية عند المفسرين المعاصرين في ظلّ نمو العلوم الطبيعية

Abstract

The research aims to demonstrate the new interpretations reached by some contemporary commentators, benefiting from the data of modern science in interpreting some Qur'anic verses related to the axis of cosmic verses such as the sky, the earth, the winds and the rains, as well as the axis of verses about the self such as man. It adopted the method of description and comparison after following the opinions of the early and contemporary commentators on those verses. The research was divided into two sections: The first: The meaning of the word, in which the new meanings of some words that revealed a new meaning were explained. The second section: The grammatical aspects, in which the closest aspect was explained and other unsuitable aspects were excluded through the new meaning of the verse. The research reached results, the most important of which is: that the discoveries of modern science, in terms of theories and laws, have a great impact on directing the interpretive meaning, because the commentators benefited from the certain facts that modern science revealed, and employed them in revealing the interpretive meaning that was not explained by the early ones due to its ambiguity at that time and the absence of modern scientific theories and laws at that time. Similarly, some verses of the Qur’an have multiple interpretations among the early commentators, and no one interpretation is preferred over another. However, contemporary commentators have been able to determine the closest grammatical interpretation through the data of modern science, which has revealed to us some of the cosmic phenomena that the Holy Qur’an has narrated.
